Top 5 riverside walks

Lace up your shoes and don’t forget your binoculars in the bag, as we take you for a stroll along the river banks!

Le Guindy

Plouguiel

Just a stone’s throw from Tréguier, the wooded banks of the Guindy offer hikers a soothing atmosphere, ideal for relaxing and birdwatching, as they enjoy the calm of its wide meanders, where the tides come and go to rest. There are plenty of surprises along the way, including the imposing Guindy aqueduct.

Following the course of the Douron

Plestin-les-Grèves

The mouth of the Douron marks the transition between the Côtes d’Armor and Finistère. The valley floor offers a magnificent trail that follows the course of the river as it becomes an estuary. Don’t miss the little harbour of Saint-Haran, and take the time to get out your binoculars to watch the ballet of waders and river birds.

A superb walk in the heart of nature, the light was magnificent! I even spotted a heron, some egrets and a kingfisher!

The Léguer, Wild River

Plounevez-Moëdec

If there’s one river that offers a multitude of possibilities for strolling along its banks, it’s without doubt the Léguer! As you follow the river’s course, the valley deepens, the landscapes change and you discover the paper mill valley, a remarkable natural site whose tumultuous history you can learn all about…

The Jaudy

La Roche-Jaudy

With its wide estuary, the Jaudy has long been a privileged route to the sheltered ports of Tréguier and La Roche-Derrien. The latter, which has now disappeared, played a key role in the cultivation and trade of flax. From the little Cité de Caractère®, follow the river upstream to a wild valley where traces of the old scutching mills can still be seen.

The Trieux estuary

Lézardrieux

This wide estuary with its wooded banks conceals many treasures, such as the Anse du Lédano or the Château de la Roche-Jagu and its panoramic view of the meandering Trieux. From its mouth, the Trieux follows the rhythm of the tides, offering magnificent landscapes such as the Hameau de Kermouster or the Bodic lighthouse.
