Adrien d'Amboise, Bishop of Tréguier, initiated the construction of the aqueduct in the 17th century, near the village of Le Guindy, in order to supply Tréguier with running water. Listed as a Historic Monument since 1931, the aqueduct has eight semi-circular arches and is the most visible structure in the eight-kilometre water supply network, running from the reservoir at the Créven fountain in Plouguiel to the reservoir at the Martray fountain in Tréguier, near Saint Tugdual Cathedral.
