The chapel was originally dedicated to the cult of the Breton saint Riom, who is not recognised by the Church. One source mentions a shift to Rhian/Rhien, later Frenchified to Adrien, which seems likely as Saint Maudez, who landed on the peninsula from Ireland, is said to have had a companion named Rhian.
The chapel dates from the 16th century, although it was largely rebuilt in the early 19th century. There are 8 statues dating from the 16th and 17th centuries.
