In the 16th century, the Lords of Lannion ordered the chapel to be built near a sacred fountain. The building was extended in the early 18th century by the de Launay-Nevet family. The sanctuary is dedicated to both Saint-Gorgon (gradually transformed into Golgon) and Saint-Dorothée: these two Roman martyrs were murdered under the Emperor Diocletian in 303.
