This tree is thought to have been planted shortly after the Augustinian convent was founded in around 1360, and is probably a second-generation tree that is around 250 years old. It is remarkable for its 27 m span and 19 m height, as well as for the character of this species, which is uncommon in the département.
It is part of the public garden of the former Palais de Justice, which has been renovated and extended to become the home of the inter-communal music school.
