Saint-Bergat was an Irish monk who arrived in our region with Tugdual, founder of Tréguier. He retired as a hermit to Pouldouran. The church, in the shape of a Latin cross, was built on land donated by the Jacob family. Work began in 1859. The first mass was celebrated on 30 October; the building did not then have a tower, which was completed in 1867.
At the entrance to the village, the church is surrounded by its parish enclosure with a fine clavaire, right next to the seaweed harbour.
